Further to our announcements dated 25 February 2020, 2 March 2020, 6 March 2020 and 27 July 2020 in relation to the Writ served to Scicom (MSC) Berhad (the “Company”) by Education Malaysia Global Services (“EMGS”), the Company wishes to announce that the Court of Appeal has in Civil Appeal No. W-02(IM)(NCvC)-913-07/2020, this morning granted the Company a stay of proceedings pending disposal of its appeal against the decision of the High Court of 27 July 2020. The appeal is against the dismissal of the Company’s application to stay proceedings in the High Court and to direct EMGS to refer their disputes to arbitration at the Asian International Arbitration Centre as provided in an agreement to arbitrate any disputes the parties may have. On legal advice, the Company is optimistic that its appeal will be successful.

Further announcements will be made as and when there are material development on the case.
