Mohd Yazid bin Abd Hamid

Yazid, a Malaysian, 59, joined Scicom on 1 March 2026. He is responsible for the Group’s strategic relationships with the national digital platforms it operates on behalf of the Malaysian government, including Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS)’s STARS system for international student visas and the GITC TVET Placement Portal. Beyond these core mandates, he explores Scicom’s forward engagement by identifying emerging needs across the public sector and converting them into strategic opportunities for Scicom within Malaysia’s wider digital transformation agenda.

Yazid brings close to two decades of leadership experience at the helm of Malaysia’s government-linked organisations in various Ministries including as founding CEO of Education Malaysia Global Services, MOHE (2012–2017), CEO of MARDI Corporation Sdn Bhd, MAFI (2018–2019) and Chief Operating Officer of the Malaysian Bioeconomy Corporation Sdn Bhd, MOSTI (2006 to 2012). He began his career in human capital development, spending 14 years in training and development roles across multinational and Malaysian corporations before moving into institutional leadership.

He currently serves as Board Member and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee at MYNIC Berhad, an agency under the Ministry of Digital, a role he has held since August 2023. He was recognised with the Educational Leadership Award at the 6th World Education Congress, Mumbai in November 2017.

Yazid holds a Bachelor of Management (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Diploma in Business Studies from Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, UK (2012).
