Datuk Joseph Dominic Silva, 53, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board of Scicom on 7 February 2018. He is a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee. He is also a member of Avicennia Capital Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) since 2011, and DMY Capital Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) since 2017. He has 28 years of working experience, 18 years of which were in senior management and Board member roles, regionally and internationally. He has subject matter expertise in the areas of corporate finance & investments, insurance & banking, technology & innovation, risk & portfolio management, global partnership development and cross-border operations.
He started his career at Malayan Banking Berhad (Malaysia) as Corporate Lending Officer from 1990 to 1992, and then at KAF Seagroatt & Campbell (Malaysia) as Originator- Fixed Income from 1992 to 1993. Thereafter he joined Mistsubishi UFJ Financial Group (Malaysia and Singapore) as Sr. Relationship Manager, Corporate Finance from 1994 to 1995 and from there onto the Royal Bank of Scotland / ABN AMRO Bank N.V. (Singapore, Malaysia, Netherlands, London, Hong Kong) as the Head of Commercial, Asia Investment Commercial Banking from 1996 till 2007. He then joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Malaysia) as the Head of Investments Sovereign Investment Fund from 2008 till 2017, and presently he is at DMY Capital (Malaysia) as the Co-Founder and Director South Asia and South-East Asia focused investments company.
Datuk Joseph Dominic Silva has a Master of the Arts in Banking & Finance from the University of Wales, UK, and had taken a Senior Management Program in Henley Management College (University of Reading), UK. He also has a Masters in Research (Business) from the University of Liverpool, UK.
